Joins Nearly 11,000 WBENC-certified WBEs with National Certification


DETROIT, Sep. 12, 2012 — RENEE WALKER & ASSOCIATES LLC, a full-service strategy and communications consultancy firm, today announced that it has received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council – Great Lakes, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Founded in 1997, WBENC is the nation’s leading advocate for and authority on WBEs, with nearly 11,000 WBENC-certified WBEs, as suppliers and vendors to U.S. corporations. More than 1,000 corporations representing America’s most prestigious brands, in addition to many states, cities and other entities, recognize WBENC certification.

WBENC provides and manages the development, enforcement and implementation of its world-class certification. WBENC certification is a rigorous, multi-faceted business application and review process that is conducted by a trained Certification Review Committee to ensure that women-owned businesses applying for certification are 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or group of women.
